Zoom Psychology & Law Symposium

Dr. Mikloš Biro (in retirement) worked at the Faculty of Philosophy Novi Sad, Serbia. His expertise is in clinical and forensic psychology. Prof. Biro is one of the first acting expert witnesses in former Yugoslavia, still active today. He has numerous publications of scientific articles and textbooks.

Dr. Nael Sumampouw works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia. He is the head of the APSIFOR, the Indonesian Forensic Psychology Association. His key interests are investigative interviewing and biases in the legal arena.

Dr. Laura Visu-Petra works as a Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. One of Prof. Visu-Petra's main research interests is the emergence and development of deceptive behavior in relation to children's socio-cognitive functioning (theory of mind, executive functions) and problematic behaviour.

Dr. Adriana Selaya is teaching Forensic Psychology at the University of Santiago de Compostela since 2019. In 2023, she got her PhD cum laude discussing a thesis concerning false memories and their importance for eyewitness testimonies. She also acts as a legal expert in legal and civil proceedings and is currently involved in the project Barnahus in Madrid.

Dr. Nkansah Anakwah works as a lecturer in forensic psychology at the University of Birmingham City, UK. Nkansah’s research interests include eyewitness memory and investigative interviewing in cross-cultural contexts, including law enforcement settings, intelligence gathering settings, and asylum seeker contexts.

Dr. Robin Orthey is a post-doctoral fellow at the Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan. Robin’s research interests mainly involve memory and lie detection, and force choice testing.

Dr. Lorraine Hope is a Professor of Applied Cognitive Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, UK. Her research has resulted in the development of innovative tools and techniques, informed by psychological science and practitioner need, for eliciting information and intelligence across a range of investigative contexts.

Dr. Qi Wang is a Professor of Human Development in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University, USA. Her research examines the mechanisms underlying the development of a variety of cognitive and social-cognitive skills in the context of culture, focusing particularly on autobiographical memory.
